Coordinator of Club Sports, Intramurals and Camps- Marist College

The Athletics Department at Marist College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as Director of Club Sports, Intramurals and Camps. The Director will report to the Associate Athletics Director-Internal Affairs and oversee the organization and administration of a comprehensive Club Sports, Intramural, and Recreation program and all aspects of the Athletic Department’s Summer Camp program; Manage daily administration of program activities, including correspondence with student staff and program participants. Marist College Athletics is a NCAA Division I program in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and manage all athletics budgets for club sports, intramural and recreation programs; select and purchase all equipment necessary for club sports, intramural and recreation programs. Work with facilities manager on supervision and upkeep of fields and other athletic facilities used by the club sports, intramural and recreation programs. Recruit, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate student assistants. Develop internal media plan to promote and market club sports, intramurals and recreation programs. Maintain and update information on website and social media outlets. Develop and oversee rules policies and procedures club sports, intramural and recreation programs. Travel locally, regionally and nationally for conference and national meetings, championship events, regular season contests and community events. Represent the Athletics Department at Open House for Accepted Students in April, New Student Orientation in June, the Fall Activities Fair in September and Spring Activities Fair in January.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Sport Management, or related field. Candidate must have knowledge and experience in the areas of recreational sports officiating and programming, strong human relations skills. Must be available during weekend and nights for Club Sport, Intramural and Athletic events. Certification in CPR/AED/First Aid will be required prior to completion of probation period.

ASST MANAGER, INTRAMURAL & CLUB SPORTS, Physical Ed, Recreation and Dance

Boston University – Boston, MA

Assist in the administration of a comprehensive Club Sport program, including direct supervision of Club Sport Teams. Advise clubs on practice schedules, travel schedules, equipment inventory and acquisition, university policy, risk management, leadership development and fund raising. Oversee all club business accounts and assist with club purchasing functions. Other duties include supervision of department van fleet, assisting with Intramural Sports functions and administration of leagues, tournaments and special programs as needed including summer childrens camp. Assist in the training of intramural officials and student office staff. Develop new workshops, club and intramural activities.

Required Skills

B.A./B.S. in Sport Management, Recreation, Sports Administration, Business Administration or related field, general knowledge of sports and sports officiating, excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal communication skills and one to three years of experience in programming and planning recreational/athletic activities including supervision.”
