East Tennessee State University – Sport Management Graduate Assistantships (3 positions) and Teaching Scholarships (1 position) in Instruction of Physical Activity Classes The Department of Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation at East Tennessee State University is seeking Masters level graduate assistants to assist with teaching in the physical activities program. Graduate Assistantships are available to students applying to the Sport Management concentration within the M.A. in Kinesiology and Sport Studies, who have a background in physical education, or have experience various sports (see list within the application package attached).

The Sport Management concentration is a 36-credit program that can be completed in four academic terms over a year and a half period (summer sessions included).

Applicants are considered for a Graduate Assistantship if they achieved at least a 2.8 GPA in their undergraduate degree, and demonstrate experience in team and individual sports/activities.
Prior to consideration for a Graduate Assistantship the applicant must have applied and been accepted into the Sport Management graduate program.

Online applications ( are accepted year-round. Application received by April 7th, 2014 will be given first consideration for available graduate assistantships.

The Executive Master in European Sport Governance (MESGO) is a unique programme designed for senior sports sector professionals wishing to master the complex dimensions and the diversity of  professional sport at the international level. It offers a unique platform for training, social and professional contact, knowledge-sharing and personal development for sports’ organisations’ elected representatives and managerial and professional staff.The MESGO is organised by five European Universities/Research Centres (Birkbeck Sport Business Centre, Birkbeck College, University of London – England; Centre de Droit et d’Economie du Sport – Limoges, France; Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz –Germany; Institut Nacional d’Educacio Fisica de Catalunya and Lleida University – Barcelona, Spain; Sciences Po Paris – France). The MESGO Master’s degree is awarded by Science Po Paris (60 ECTS credits).


The MESGO is supported by six European sport federations (EHF – Handball; FIBA Europe – Basketball; FIRA- AER – Rugby; UEFA – Football; CEV – Volley-ball; IIHF – Ice hockey).

This programme is designed for experienced managers and executives working in:

  • International, European and national federations;
  • Clubs, leagues and trade unions;
  • European institutions and governments;
  • Partners of, and stakeholders in, sports organisations (media, sponsors, etc.).
