James Madison LogoJames Madison University Sport and Recreation Management is offering a study abroad program to Ireland in May. The program is open for additional non-JMU students to apply with a deadline of March 1. Below is information about the program and the link for application materials. Please share with your students who may be interested.
  • We are trying to recruit some additional students for a study abroad program designed specifically for Sport Management students this May to Ireland.  As sport has grown into a global phenomenon, JMU is excited to be able to offer a program specific for Sport Management.  I am reaching out to you to share this information with your students as we would welcome any additional students to join us on this adventure.
  • The trip departs on May 14th and returns on May 29th.  I realize that many of your students do not need the credit hours to graduate, but could potentially use these 2 credit hours as elective credits that would be super fun to earn.  We are combining with the Athletic Training program to keep travel expenses down.  Some learning situations will cross over between the Athletic Training and Sport Management students while approximately 20 hours will be specific for Sport Management Students.
  • Additional information and application materials may be found at http://www.jmu.edu/international/abroad/programs/jmu-ireland-sport.shtml.
  • The pre-req. criteria for acceptance is simply an Intro to Sport Management course, 2.5 GPA and a letter of reference.
  • Great experience even for your newbies!  Applications are currently being accepted until the program has filled OR no later than March 1.
