One Tenure-Track and One Three-Year Limited-Term Position in Sport Management and Leadership

The University of Windsor, Faculty of Human Kinetics invites applications for one tenure-track and one three-year limited-term faculty position in the area of Sport Management and Leadership in the Department of Kinesiology.  Both appointments will be at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing July 1, 2014.  These positions are subject to final budgetary approval.

A medium-sized university with a solid reputation in teaching and research, the University of Windsor offers a friendly and supportive environment for both living and learning.  It is Canada’s southernmost university and its international location provides unique cultural, recreational and educational opportunities for faculty and students.

The successful candidate will be appointed to the Faculty of Human Kinetics.  The Faculty comprises two program areas, namely the Department of Kinesiology and the Division of Athletics and Recreational Services.  The Department of Kinesiology offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees with approximately 800 undergraduate students and 75 graduate students.  Vibrant research and teaching cultures within Kinesiology facilitate high quality, student centred learning experiences which are supported by a recent major expansion and improvement to existing facilities.  At the undergraduate level, students take a common core of Kinesiology courses in addition to related option courses prior to majoring in Sport Management or Movement Science.  Graduate students can complete their program of study in either Sport Management or Applied Human Performance through a thesis or internship route at the Masters level and in Kinesiology at the Doctoral level.  Candidates are encouraged to review the departmental website for a full description of those sub-disciplines comprising the Sport Management area.  For more information about the Faculty of Human Kinetics visit our website at:http://www.uwindsor.ca/hk.

The successful candidates will hold a Doctorate in Sport Management or a related field.  They will be expected to teach courses in a variety of Sport Management or related areas at both the undergraduate (core and major) and graduate levels as well as contribute to graduate thesis and internship advisement.  The successful tenure-track candidate will also be expected to conduct a research program in a Sport Management related field.
